The Water Ionizer is a small machine about the size of your electric kettle that fits on the kitchen counter and attaches to any tap.
First the water runs through a very fine activated charcoal filter to remove solid particles and microbes, and then it enters a chamber with platinum coated titanium plates for electrolysis.
All the alkaline minerals in the water are drawn towards one plate, while all the acid elements, such as chlorine, fluoride and heavy metals, are drawn towards the other plate. The acid water drains out an exit tube into the sink for disposal, and the alkaline water is dispensed through a spout for consumption. The electrical current in the ionization chamber also breaks the covalent bond of groups of water molecules into smaller clusters.

The key benefit of electrolysis is the fact that the minerals in the water that flow out with the alkaline water are all beneficial, and bio-available while the minerals that flow out with the acid water are, in the main, not beneficial. Thus you drink purified, beneficially mineralised alkaline water.
The filter used on the Jupiter water Ionizer is a silver activated carbon filter to remove metallic as well as organic impurities. The filter uses high grade carbon and impregnated silver with antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties, killing over 650 types of known disease organisms. The carbon absorbs and filters chlorine, taste odour and colour as well as trihalomethanes, volatile organics, chromates, sulfates, lead and pesticides.
Activated carbon filters will remove chlorine and some chemicals. However, just having a simple carbon cartridge will still allow bacteria to grow in the cartridge. Activated carbon, impregnated with silver will remove impurities and also neutralise most bacteria because of the impregnated silver.
